Demonstrate... and change
Very nice, people demonstrating against the status quo of climate
attacks by the governments. And it is necessary. Now, it comes to my
mind: how many of those demonstrators have changed already their
lifestyles—or are willing to do so—in order to reduce CO2 emisions and
the use of energy? How many of them would ACCEPT impositions on their
lifestyles from a government whose members would impose restrictions
first on themselves? Just wondering. Having said that—I have changed many
habits already and I'm willing to change more, to limit myself, to buy
less, to use less, to avoid fake needs as much as possible, to reduce my
usage of modern technologies (mobile, internet) to a bare minimum. How
many of the demonstrators are willing to do so? Hopefully, quite a few.
Naively, all of them. Yet that is not the real problem and, I repeat,
this demonstrations are needed to make more people aware, regardless of
how coherent is the demonstrators' lifestyle with their messages. Maybe
politicians could be an example and show they are going to reduce
emisions in their everyday lifes. Just an idea—but probably not going to
happen. See you soon in New Venus.
